Simbiosis is a collective of artists, designers, and architects based in Trujillo, a coastal city in northern Peru. Using photography, video, printmaking, painting, and design, the collective cultivates a documentary perspective at the intersection of research and creation.

It explores the urban space through works that bring sensory experience, critical reflection, and formal experimentation into dialogue, seeking not only to understand the city but also to question its imaginaries, possibilities, and frictions.

Cuatro Suyos

In a social housing complex built in the district of La Esperanza, Trujillo, following the 2017 floods, displaced life paths intersect and recompose social worlds. Relocation to the Cuatro Suyos residence is not merely a shift in space; it fundamentally reshapes ways of dwelling and coexisting within these concrete apartment blocks.

The Cuatro Suyos project explores these processes through a research-creation initiative grounded in several months of fieldwork. By paying close attention to stories, objects, gestures, and architecture, artistic practice seeks to interweave the memories of the disaster and the realities of daily life in these new condominiums.

Architects, artists, designers, researchers, and residents come together to give voice to the experiences and stories of this place.
